Feral Druids can DPS as Cat, they have an interesting rotation, that requires attention and practice to master. Like the Balance counterpart, they bring utility to the raid, with combat ress, innervate, faerie fire, 5% melee critical strike buff and the ability to change to Bear and tank on a pinch, depending on the build. Their damage can be high if the rotation is well executed.
Rotation for Feral Druid Cat DPS Wotlk
Feral Druid Cat DPS Rotation and Priorities
Faerie Fire (Keep debuff up) > Mangle (Keep debuff up) > Shred to 4-5 combo points > Savage Roar > Shred to 4-5 combo point > Rip or Ferocious Bite (above 1000 Armor Pen) > if Rip is above 5 seconds > Ferocious Bite
Tips
Never allow Savage Roar to drop.
Get to know the fights to pop cooldowns at the best times (low movement, no crowd control, AOE, etc).
Time cooldowns so they can be used to clean thrash and be ready for boss fights.
Use berserk to allow more Ferocious Bites or recover from a mistake on the rotation.
Like rogues when Armor Penetration is near cap Rip is dropped from the rotation and Ferocious bite becomes the main finisher.
Druid rotation requires attention, practice, and when done properly can perform well, so time how many seconds can you do between a Rip and Ferocious Bite, so Rip won’t drop, near ARP cap you can drop Rip.
