Smite Steam fix for Linux 2023

Smite is a 3D MOBA from Hi-Rez studios. Smite has been patched to work on Linux systems and the Steam Deck, however in some cases a slight configuration on the properties of the game might be needed.

For us the game wouldn’t start, after clicking play on Smite the game would change to the x Stop blue sign on steam but then turn green and with the Play writen on it.

gamemoderun %command%
MANGOHUD=1 gamemoderun %command%

To add these, right click Smite on your library, select Properties and then add the code on “Advanced users may choose to enter modifications to their launch options.”

To check more news of Proton and Smite please check the protondb page for the game @ https://www.protondb.com/app/386360.

The codes tested here were given by the community of protondb, all props to them! if the game doesn’t start another option that worked was using the 32-bit Smite launched instead, this option for Smite is above the option mentioned above. Tests were done in Nobara (Fedora) Linux and Pop!_OS.

Maybe in the future, not only Smite but Paladins might become available for Linux and the steam deck!
